TUCSON, Ariz. — Jessie Perry scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half, Solomon Hill had 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Arizona grinded out a 71-57 win over Colorado on Thursday night.
Arizona (17-8, 8-4 Pac-12) labored for stretches offensively, but played solid defense throughout to keep itself within reach of the Pac-12 lead.
The Wildcats steadily built the lead to nine midway through the second half. And Perry, with some help from Hill, made sure Colorado didn't come back.
Perry also had 11 rebounds and Kyle Fogg added 15 points for Arizona.
Colorado (16-8, 8-4) kept up with the Wildcats for a while, but couldn't match their second-half intensity and lost for the fourth time in five conference road games.
Andre Roberson had 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Buffaloes.
California 75, at USC 49
Harper Kamp scored 19 points, Allen Crabbe had 18 and California cruised to a victory over Southern California. Crabbe went 8 of 12 from the floor and Kamp was 9 of 11. Cal, the Pac-12's top-shooting team, shot 55.7 percent from the floor.
Justin Cobbs scored 10 points and freshman David Kravish grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds for the Golden Bears (19-6, 9-3), who outscored the Trojans 40-20 over the final 20 minutes.
Maurice Jones led USC (6-19, 1-11) with 17 points. Byron Wesley added 11.
Crabbe, a Los Angeles native, played in front of a large contingent of supporters. He opened the game by hitting his first five shots to account for 11 of Cal's first 17 points.
At UCLA 72, Stanford 61
Lazeric Jones scored 21 points and UCLA pulled away with a late 10-0 run to beat Stanford, extending the Cardinal's winless streak in Los Angeles.
Travis Wear added 13 points and Jerime Anderson 12 for the Bruins (14-10, 7-5 Pac-12), who improved to 11-3 at home and have won four of their past five overall.
Stanford (16-8, 6-6) hasn't won a road game against the Bruins or USC since 2004-05, going 0 for 13 in that stretch.
At Arizona St. 57,
Utah 52
Carrick Felix scored 15 points, including a pair of critical free throws with 11.7 seconds to play, and Arizona State held off Utah, sending the Utes to their fifth straight loss and 11th in 12 games.
Their lone victory in that span was a 64-43 rout of Arizona State on Jan. 21.
Trent Lockett had 12 points in his first game back after missing six games with a sprained right ankle. The Sun Devils had gone 1-5 in Lockett's absence.
