Spring is in full bloom (indoors) at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show, Wednesday through Sunday at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. Gardeners eagerly anticipate the creative display gardens, seminars and marketplace, but any fan of Mother Nature can enjoy the show, green thumb not required.

The show's centerpiece, 22 display gardens in full bloom, illustrate the show's theme, "A Floral Symphony," with sub-themes including "Birdsong," "Coloring the Blues," "Grunge Garden," "Rhythm and Roots — A Tribute to Bluegrass" and "Peter and the Wolf — A Landscape Symphony."

Gardening seminars in three venues offer continuous free presentations on a variety of topics including information from local gardening celebrities Valerie Easton, Ciscoe Morris, Dan Hinkley, Marty Wingate and more. The show guide provides descriptions of all the events, including noting which are suited for new gardeners and small space or indoor gardening. Kids can explore the Rockin' Robin Playground and sing and dance along with children's entertainers Caspar Babypants, Nancy Stewart and others on the Sprout Stage.

The show's Marketplace offers plants, bulbs and seeds and gardening tools and accessories of all kinds, and an extensive variety of botanical art from 75 nurseries and 200 other exhibitors, plus information from gardening organizations. Other show features include a floral arrangement display and competition, container-garden display and an orchid show and sale.
