1 killed, 1 wounded in Longview shooting

LONGVIEW — A woman has been killed and her husband wounded in a shooting in Longview.

Police arrested a suspect about an hour after the shooting this morning in the Highlands neighborhood. St. John Medical Center reported that Kathy Tubbs died and her husband Bob is in satisfactory condition.

A Tubbs family friend told the Longview Daily News that the suspect and the Tubbs' daughter recently broke up.

Police and Cowlitz County sheriff's deputies swarmed the Highlands area in response to the shooting. St. Helens Elementary School was locked down for about an hour as a precaution
