EVERETT, Wash. —

It didn't take long for Snohomish County clinics to give away 28,000 doses of flu vaccine.

People from as far away as Canada began lining up well before dawn Saturday at the 10 clinics where doses were made available. By 10:15 a.m., all of the vaccine had been allocated.

The Washington State Patrol said 5,000 cars were backed up at a drive-through clinic in Stanwood at 9:30 a.m., said the Washington State Patrol. And a clinic in Monroe said there was a five-hour wait for the vaccine at one point.
