DNA evidence links a former Seattle police officer, Gary Krueger, who recently died, to the high-profile murder of Bellevue real-estate agent Mike Emert in 2001, according to reports by KIRO-TV.

Emert was stabbed multiple times, then placed inside a shower at a house for sale in Woodinville.

Investigators recovered traces of the killer’s blood and skin in Emert’s SUV, according to KIRO.

Kreuger’s body was found in Lake Washington in September after he allegedly fled from an attempted robbery at a Kirkland home last March.

Emert’s widow and confidential police sources told KIRO that DNA evidence identifies Kreuger as Emert’s killer. The news agency, citing confidential sources, reported that Kreuger is also the prime suspect in at least two other unsolved murders.
