SEATTLE —

Two former Mariners stars and a Seattle newspaper columnist are being inducted in the Washington Sports Hall of Fame in a ceremony before Saturday's Mariners-Yankees game at Safeco Field.

The addition of Edgar Martinez, John Olerud and Emmett Watson will bring the total number of names in the hall to 172. It started in 1960.

Martinez played his entire 18-year career with Seattle. The three-time All Star won two American League batting titles.

Olerud played five seasons of his 17-year career with the Mariners and was an important part of the 2001 team that won 116 games.

The Hall of Fame is honoring Watson for his support of baseball in his long career with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and The Seattle Times. He died in 2001.
