GREENVILLE, S.C. —

In an Oct. 8 story about the aftermath of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid on a poultry processing plant, The Associated Press reported that an agency spokeswoman said the raid occurred because people were violating immigration law.

The story should have specified that the spokeswoman was responding to AP's request for a comment about the arrests, rather than the reason for the raid. On Thursday, the agency said the raid was the result of a lengthy investigation, among other factors.
