Seattle Pacific men's basketball picked to win GNAC
The Falcons came out on top in a preseason poll of basketball coaches, with defending champ Western Washington picked to finish second.
Seattle Pacific's men's basketball team, under new coach Ryan Looney, is the preseason favorite to win the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title, according to a poll of coaches.
Looney is beginning his first season at SPU after compiling a 95-55 record in five seasons at Eastern Oregon.
Defending champion Western Washington was picked second and Central Washington was third.
Basketball
The Comcast Battle in Seattle men's game between Gonzaga and Davidson on Dec. 12 at KeyArena will tip off at 4 p.m. PDT. It was previously announced as a 1 p.m. game.
Golf
Karinn Dickinson finished ninth and her Washington's women's team placed sixth in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Nevada.
Soccer
Theresa Henle, a sophomore from Issaquah, scored twice as Puget Sound beat Pacific Lutheran 2-1 in Tacoma to take over first place in the Northwest Conference. The Loggers, ranked fourth in the nation, outshot the Lutes 21-2.
