The Washington men's soccer team broke its recent streak of ties and earned a huge victory in conference play, knocking off No. 25 San Diego State 2-0 on Friday.

SAN DIEGO — The Washington men's soccer team broke its recent streak of ties and earned a huge victory in conference play, knocking off No. 25 San Diego State 2-0 on Friday.
Brent Richards and Matt Van Houten scored for UW (5-5-6, 2-1-5 Pac-10), which had settled for double-overtime ties in five of its previous seven matches. It was the team's first win since Oct. 9.
Men's basketball
Chris Banchero and Brandon Larrieu scored 13 points apiece, leading Seattle Pacific to an 82-59 rout of Simon Fraser in an exhibition game at Brougham Pavilion.
Women's basketball
Courtney Vandersloot scored a game-high 18 points to help Gonzaga to a 100-42 victory over Warner Pacific in an exhibition game in Spokane.
Women's tennis
Washington's Denise Dy advanced to the semifinals of the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in West Haven, Conn. Dy topped fifth-ranked Hilary Barte of Stanford 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 in the round of 16, then posted a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 win over 22nd-ranked Anastasia Petukhova of Fresno State in the quarterfinals.
Huskies teammate Venise Chan was eliminated in the quarters, falling 6-0, 6-2 to Georgia Tech's Irina Falconi.
Other men's soccer
• Gonzaga dropped a 2-1 decision to Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles. Nick Love scored in the 6th minute for the Bulldogs (6-8-3, 3-6-1 West Coast).

• Luke Fischer and Derek Woolsey each scored for Northwest University (9-5-4, 7-5-2 Cascade Collegiate) in a 2-0 victory over College of Idaho in Kirkland.
Women's soccer
Washington dropped a 2-1 decision to UCLA at Husky Soccer Field. Veronica Perez scored for the Huskies (11-5-3, 3-3-2 Pac-10), who've lost two straight.
• Washington State (13-4-2, 5-1-2 Pac-10) and USC played to a scoreless draw in Pullman.
• Eastern Washington's season ended in the Big Sky semifinals, as the Eagles (7-9-2, 4-2-1) fell 2-1 to Idaho State in Portland.
Volleyball
Meagan Ganzer and Jackie Albright combined for 27 kills for No. 24 Washington State (16-7, 5-7 Pac-10), which dropped a 25-16, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16 match to No. 13 California in Pullman.
• Hayley Hills had 12 kills for Eastern Washington (15-9, 9-4 Big Sky), which dropped a 26-24, 25-21, 25-22 decision to host Portland State.
Swimming
The Seattle University men dropped a dual meet to Brigham Young in Provo, Utah, 184-108, while the Redhawks women fell to BYU (241-52), New Mexico (200-93) and Boise State (228-64).
