Stealth loses fight-filled match

In a game that had a fight before the opening faceoff, the Calgary Roughnecks got by the Washington Stealth 12-11 on Friday night at Comcast Arena.

EVERETT — In a game that had a fight before the opening faceoff, the Calgary Roughnecks got by the Washington Stealth 12-11 on Friday night at Comcast Arena.

Calgary's Geoff Snider and Washington's Jeff Moleski hooked up in a scrap before the official start of the game. The rough play continued throughout the opening quarter with the Stealth's Rhys Duch involved in a fight and teammate Paul Rabil ejected 7:16 into the contest.

Lewis Ratcliff scored four goals, Brett Bucktooth had three and Tyler Richards made a career-high 59 saves for Washington (1-4). Reigning league MVP Jeff Shattler had four goals and an assist for Calgary (3-2).
