Limón Dance Company

In a last-minute change (as arts bookings go), Limón Dance Company will perform at Meany Hall on March 1-3 instead of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba. Ticket prices remain the same. Tickets to Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba will be honored for Limón Dance Company at the door. Ticket holders who prefer not to see Limón Dance Company should contact the UW Arts ticket office, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, at 206-543-4880 by Feb. 15 to discuss their options.

But ... you might really want to see Limón Dance Company. Not only is it celebrating its 65th anniversary with a retrospective of work by modern-dance choreographer José Limón, but it's bringing a new work by Rodrigo Pederneiras, chief choreographer for Grupo Corpo, to town. Pederneiras' "Come With Me," set to music by Cuban musician Paquito D'Rivera, is on the program March 1 and 2. Limón's "There Is a Time," "Chaconne" and "The Moor's Pavane" will be performed all three nights. On March 3, "Dances for Isadora" replaces Pederneiras' piece, for an all-Limón evening. 8 p.m. March 1-3, Meany Hall, University of Washington; $20-$45 (206-543-4880 or www.uwworldseries.org).
